History

Innovation with tradition

Terheggen und Dethlefsen can look back on a history of over 90 years. Founded in Hamburg in 1929, the company was initially a classic importer of raw materials.

However, the industrialization of the food industry required ever more complex products and, in addition to spice blends, our customers increasingly needed functional ingredients that were developed and optimized by our specialists.

This decades-long expertise was the basis for a comprehensive consulting business that ranges from customer-specific recipe and product creation to production support for the client.

Together with our customers, we have already developed more than 2,500 products and brought them to market maturity.
